Another Floyd Co. gas station latest target of armed robbers

A recent string of armed robberies in Floyd and Pike counties shows no sign of slowing down as another Floyd Co. gas station was the latest target of a robbery on Friday, just days after the robbery at the Tiger Mart on U.S. 23.

Residents of Floyd County are becoming concern and want to know when officials hope to get a handle on the recent rash of robberies. This time, it was the Double Kwik BP in Minnie, held up early Friday morning. An armed man entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk.

The suspect in this latest robbery was wearing a black mask, black gloves and a black hooded shirt. After the robbery, the suspect was said to have left the scene on foot. Officials with the Kentucky State Police stated that they still do not believe any of the recent robberies are connected.

Anyone with information on any recent robbery is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at (606) 433-7711.
