Another attempted Pike County robbery is stopped by the store's owner

The recent string of robberies in Pike and Floyd counties over the past few weeks looked as if it would continue on Monday, but a determined store owner decided to take matters into his own hands and the suspects would leave the store empty handed. Two men entered the Meta Mart at Johns Creek, with at least one brandishing a gun and demanded money. The stores owner Garry Thornsberry came out of the office and fired four shots. The suspects fled the scene empty handed. Both were still at large on Tuesday. Anyone with information concerning the attempted robbery is asked to contact Kentucky State Police.
