Breaking News: Emergency crews have been dispatched to the Prestonsburg Hardee's [UPDATED]

Officials were called to the Prestonsburg Hardee's at around 5:45 a.m. this morning after employees noticed the restaurant filling with smoke. Speaking with Q95 News, police stated that fire crews were attempting to determine the cause of the incident and that the restaurant would remain closed for at least several hours. Q95 News will have more on this developing story on our afternoon newscast.

UPDATE:

A heat strip is to blame for an incident at the Prestonsburg Hardee's this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the Prestonsburg Hardee's at approximately 5:45 a.m. this morning after employees noticed the restaurant filling with smoke. Fire department members were quick to gain control of the situation and only minor damage was reported.

A heat strip fell into some insulation in the ceiling area of the restaurant causing the abundant smoke. The restaurant will remain closed today while officials work to clean up.
