Botched robbery leaves Ohio teen trapped in Ashland Mexican restaurant

A teenager from Cleveland ended up spending the night in a local Mexican restaurant in Ashland on Tuesday after a failed robbery attempt. Ashland police say the teenager was passing through Ashland and needed money, so he decided to break into the Rancho Grande Mexican Restaurant on Winchester Avenue. The teen attempted to enter through the oven air vent, but when he started down, he got stuck.

When employees arrived to work, they could hear someone calling out for help. The suspect asked the employees to call 911. Firefighters needed over two hours to free the would-be robber from the vent. Though he was uninjured, charges are pending against him.
