A verdict has been reached in a Pike Co murder case

A jury has convicted a Pike County man of the lesser charge of second-degree manslaughter in the death of Jesse Church in June of last year.

Everett Paul Norman of Draffin, was originally charged with murder in Church’s death.

Kentucky State Police said that Church, 30, of Harold, was killed during a shooting at Norman’s residence.

Norman was taken into custody at the scene.

Norman's trial began Monday in Pike County Circuit Court. The jury returned the verdict it's Wednesday.

Norman is set to be sentencing is scheduled for next month.
