Police are searching for an escaped inmate in eastern KY

A work release inmate is on the run in Boyd County, Kentucky.

The Boyd County Detention Center says Michael Meadow has escaped.

Deputies say he was working at a church on Carter Avenue.

Meadows was helping clean up after a pancake breakfast, when he fled.

Meadows was serving time for 2nd degree assault.

He only had 90 days left on his sentence.
