Final autopsy report released in the death of a Perry Co. inmate

A final autopsy report released by the Kentucky Medical Examiner's office in the death of a Perry County jail inmate lists homicide as the manner of death.

Larry Trent was an inmate at the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard. A report says Trent was involved in an altercation with jail staff only hours before Trent's death.

The autopsy report revealed that Trent died of injuries sustained in an assault at the jail. The report also noted that signs of chronic alcohol abuse contributed to, but did not result in. Trent's death.
