Floyd County Schools are recognized at the State Capitol
The Floyd County School System was recently recognized during a ceremony at the capitol rotunda. On August 8th, 2013, Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Beshear as well as Education Commissioner Terry Holliday recognized the school districts that had passed a policy to raise the dropout age to 18. The Floyd County district was one of the first in the state to voluntarily raise the age. Superintendent Henry Webb and Floyd County Board of Education Chairman Jeff Stumbo attended the ceremony on behalf of the Floyd County Schools.
