Stonecrest vandalism leads to indictment

A Floyd County man has been indicted in charges associated with the recent destruction of a golf course green at Stonecrest in Prestonsburg. Twenty-three year old Sean McManus of David is accused of intentionally damaging property belonging to Stonecrest Golf Course. He was indicted on charges of one count of criminal mischief and one count of tampering with physical evidence. The value of the damage was estimated at 20,000 by Stonecrest management. The indictment also accuses McManus of intentionally concealing evidence that he felt could be used against him. McManus is accused of driving a 4 wheel side by side vehicle on the 11th green at Stonecrest, and proceeding to do doughnuts and burn outs, causing major damage to the green. McManus is due in court November 14th. An indictment does not prove guilt but only that a crime was committed.
