Crews are on the scene of a house fire in the Dwale Community of Floyd County

Fire crews from Allen, Prestonsburg, Betsy Layne and Middlecreek are on the scene of a house fire in the Dwale community of Floyd County this afternoon. Allen Volunteer Fire Chief Billy Jarvis spoke with us this afternoon saying the department got a call of a house fire this morning at 11:03 am. Upon arrival the home was ablaze with the fire partially contained to the back of the home. The Prestonsburg Fire department was call to assist with the fire and later two additional departments were called to the scene including Betsy Layne and Middlecreek. Due to the location of the home, the first two departments on the scene requested assistance from nearby crews in providing more water to fight the fire. Chief Jarvis reported that an occupant of the home was able to make it out of the home safely and no injuries were reported. Fire crews remained on the scene late this afternoon.
