A Pike County man is sentenced on manslaughter charges

A Pike County man will spend 19 years in prison after accepting a plea deal in connection with the death of his wife. Fifty-two year old Bruce Dillon was in Pike Circuit Court on Friday after pleading guilty to manslaughter. Police found Sherry Dillons body in a freezer buried on the couples property in August of last year. Sherry Dillon's family reported her missing in July of last year. Judge Steven D. Combs sentenced Bruce Dillon to 19 years in prison. Family members of Sherry Dillon read a statement to the court saying "the family had waited for this day" and that "they hoped he was haunted by his wife for the rest of his life"
Dillon made no comments and only nodded his head as the statement was being given. Judge Combs gave Dillon credit for time served and ordered him taken away to begin serving his sentence.
