A Floyd County restaurant and motel are damaged by fire on Saturday

A Floyd County restaurant and motel were heavily damaged by a fire that broke out early Saturday morning in Allen. Fire crews from over a half dozen area departments helped battle the blaze at the Seasons Inn. Officials were forced to close part of Route 1428 in the Allen area for several hours due to the fire. The owners of the motel say all the rooms were occupied at the time of the fire, but all the occupants were able to safely exit the building. The fire is believed to have started near the front entrance to the restaurant in an attic space. The fire remains under investigation by the Allen Volunteer Fire Department.
