The Floyd County Fiscal Court met in regular session today
The Floyd County Fiscal Court met in regular session today as an overflow courtroom filled the former Floyd County Courthouse. Several community members took advantage of the opportunity to address members of the fiscal court with concerns over possible layoffs and other cuts due to budget shortfalls. Magistrates and County judge executive RD Marshall listened to citizen comments for nearly an hour before entering into executive session to discuss employee issues. Court members returned from executive session after nearly two hours. County Attorney Keith Bartley informed those in attendance that at the present time no layoffs will occur and no county services will be discontinued. Bartley, noted that at the present time no layoffs would occur but that was subject to change and that the court felt they could progress in shoring up the budget without laying off employees at this time.
