Kentucky traffic deaths at lowest number since 1940's

The number of Kentucky traffic deaths is currently at its lowest number in decades. Fewer than 600 fatal accidents have been reported as of mid-December. That is the lowest number since the 1940's. Kentucky Office of Highway Safety officials say strict seat belt laws played a major role in the lower numbers. They also say Kentucky's rate of decline is still below the national rate.
