More information becoming available in Floyd County jail contraband case

Two suspects arrested for attempting to get drugs into the Floyd County detention center were allegedly attempting to do so through a hole drilled into the jail cell from outside the building. The Floyd County Times is reporting a joint investigation by Kentucky State Police and the state Attorney Generals office led to the discovery. The two suspects have yet to be identified because the investigation is ongoing. Information outside the jail gave police a lead into the operation. A search of the jail unveiled traces of contraband. KSP and Prestonsburg City Police are continuing to investigate.
