Kentucky's Flu status is moved to regional, one step below widespread
The Centers for Disease Control and prevention now says that Kentucky's flu status is regional, which is only one step below the widespread level. Officials say the state is a month away from the beginning of peak flu season. Kentucky is one of four states that have regional flu status. Officials say the best defense against the flu is to get a flu shot. Flu season is expected to continue to see cases increase through the end of flu season. The flu shot generally provides protection for six months to one year.
