A recent audit of the Floyd County School district ends in positive results

The Floyd County Times is reporting that a recent audit of the Floyd County school district found no major concerns with the boards 52 million dollar budget. The audit, performed by Wallen, Puckett, and Anderson of Pikeville, found the board ended the year with a general fund balance of 5.9 million, even while purchasing 11 new school buses and six other vehicles, providing a 1 percent cost of living raise for all full-time staff, installing two turf football fields, renovating one high school gym and 200,000 to schools for field trips.
