Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell will host a pro-coal listening session today in Pikeville

After, several attempts to hold hearings in the Eastern Kentucky region were denied, US Senator Mitch McConnell has decided to hold his own today on the campus of the University of Pikeville. The EPA has scheduled eleven hearings on proposed carbon limits on power plants, but none in coal producing regions. McConnells audience is expected to include Eastern Kentucky community leaders, small business owners and coal families that have been affected by what has been termed the "war on coal". McConnell said the purpose of the session is so that those affected by the war on coal will finally have a chance to have their voices heard. the session will take place today at 10 am in the coal building.
