Prestonsburg's Archer Park Christmas display damaged by flooding

Heavy rains across Eastern Kentucky caused flash flooding in areas of our listening area over the weekend. One area that was affected was Archer Park in Prestonsburg. The park had just opened the annual Christmas light display on Thanksgiving night. Flooding hit the park, affecting many of the light displays during the past weekend. Water began a rapid rise on Friday evening around 8 pm. Park employees were out early Saturday morning working to restore the display as quickly as the flood waters were gone. Officials with Archer Park say the display will be open for the remainder of the Christmas season as soon as the displays are cleaned up.
