A man has been sentenced on federal drug charges

A man from Mingo County has been sentenced to four years and two months in a federal prison for oxycodone possession.

In May 2012, Terry Kevin Steele of Meador, pleaded guilty to the charge in U.S District Court in Huntington.

On Nov. 17, 2011 Steele was arrested after a disturbance at a hotel. A criminal complaint accused Steele of taking money from a woman at the hotel.

Deputies say they recovered 1,379 oxycodone tablets and a .38 revolver from the hotel room. Steele admitted to prosecutors that he intended to sell the pills to people in Mingo County.
