Police in Mingo County, WV cracking down on drugs
Mingo County Sheriff Eugene Crum said. "We're seeing a lot of doctor shopping in Tennessee and Georgia."
Friday's sweep resulted in more than 50 indictments and more than $300,000 in cash and property confiscated.
The task force commander is Dave Rockel, the city's police chief of Williamson, W.Va. He says this sweep is just the beginning of a new, dedicated effort to get drugs off the street.
Rockel explained that they were planning on expanding. He continued that he believes no one should live in fear because of the drug problem, they want to correct the problem and will continue to do so.
