West Carter High School undergoes lockdown following threat
A lockdown was placed on West Carter High School on Thursday after officials were informed of a threat written inside a textbook. The threat listed Thursday's date, forcing officials to contact law enforcement and place the building under lockdown at approximately 12:30 p.m.
The threat indicated there was a weapon inside a locker. Olive Hill police conducted a sweep of the school, but did not locate any weapons. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
