The city of Prestonsburg widens a current smoking ban
Members of the Prestonsburg City Council decided, by a 4-1 vote on Monday to widen the current smoking ban within the city. The new ordinance will add all federal, state and city roads as well as sidewalks, Stonecrest golf course, sporting facilities, parks and recreation areas and government office parking lots. The new ban also includes city owned vehicles, however the new ordinance does not apply to personal vehicles. The city's previous ban covered all workplaces and other buildings that are open to the public. The ordinance is expected to become law once it is published in the Floyd County Times.
