Paintsville is the home of two state champions

Just one day after the Paintsville 13-14 year old junior league all-stars claimed a state title, the Paintsville 9-10 year old team accomplished the same goal winning a state title on Friday. The 9-10 year old squad defeated Nelson County 4-1 and were crowned state champions at Stonecrest athletic complex. The state championship ended the season for the Tigers 9-10 year olds, as the state level is the highest level for the age group. The 13-14 junior league team will continue on to the regional tournament to be held August 3-10 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
