Ground is broken on Kentucky Route 7 reconstruction project
Governor Steve Beshear joined local and state officials Monday during a groundbreaking ceremony on reconstruction of Kentucky Route 7 near Sandy Hook.
The 26 million dollar project will complete improvements and create a safer roadway and easier access through Elliott County. The improvements began in 1997.
The current phase involves rebuilding and widening 5 miles of Kentucky Route 7. Construction is expected to begin once utilities are relocated.
