UPike set to add a new College of Business

The University of Pikeville held a press conference on Monday to announce the formation of a new College of Business. The school will expand on the college's business program. The new college will be named the Burlin Coleman College of Business. Mr. Coleman is a trustee of the college and former president and CEO of Community Trust Bank. New college president James Hurley commented "the hope for the new College of Business is that it will not only strengthen the college, but also the economic future of the region." Coleman, along with his wife Jean pledged a one million dollar gift to help sustain the College of Business as well as to create scholarships. Howard Roberts will serve as the dean. An announcement was also made that UPike will offer a new degree program in health care management. The new degree program will begin being offered in the upcoming fall semester.
