The KY Statewide Ban On Texting While Driving Is Proving Hard To Enforce

The texting while driving ban here in Kentucky is hard to enforce as is shone by nearly 40% of the texting while driving charges in only one Kentucky county being dismissed, because prosecutors say the ban is nearly impossible to enforce.

With over 900 charges have been brought across the state of Kentucky since police began citing drivers for cell phone related driving laws passed in 2010.

One law bars drivers under the age of 18 from using cell phones while operating a vechile, while the other bans all kentucky drivers from sending or recieving text or email messages while driving.

Of the 909 charges 25% have been dismissed while prosecutors got convictions on only 63% of cases.
