Appalachian Regional Healthcare Has Reached A Tentative Labor Deal With United Steelworkers
In what appearls to have avoided a strike of up to 2,000 workers, Appalachian Regional Healthcare officials announced on Tuesday that they have reached a tentative lobor agreement with the United Steelworkers Union.
The current labor contract expires on Sunday and workers had theatened to strike as early as Monday if a new deal could not be reached.
The deal came on Tuesday after a counter offer from the USN that included compromises in the areas that had been dividing the two sides, including health insurance rate hikes.
