Union College athlete has been arrested for drug trafficking
WYMT is reporting that a Union College athlete has been arrested for drug trafficking.
Police say it started as a welfare check that quickly led to several investigations.
Police in Barbourville arrested two people Monday for drug trafficking, one of them is a student at Union College.
Monday morning, the Barbourville Police received a call that a young child was not at school.
Police say a home invasion the night before went unreported, and as they continued to gather details about the crime they decided to get a search warrant for the apartment which led to charges for the victim of the break-in.
Police say when they performed the search warrant they found several pounds of marijuana and close to $20,000 in cash.
Police also found anabolic steroids and drug packaging materials.
Police charged Frantzy Sejour with trafficking marijuana and a controlled substance.
Jessica Richardson was also charged with trafficking marijuana.
Sejour is a student and athlete at Union College. He previously played football, and is now on the track team.
Sejour's child who police say was at home during the break-in is now with the mother.
Police say the investigation continues and they expect more arrests and charges.
