A Prestonsburg couple is arrested on child abuse charges

Prestonsburg police confirmed that the arrest came after authorities were notified about possible abuse of multiple children. Police say they  were contacted by Prestonsburg Elementary School officials  regarding allegations of possible child abuse. The names of the parents arrested are not being released because the investigation and case involves children. The arrests were made at OP nails in Prestonsburg. The warrants obtained were for first degree criminal abuse. Police did confirm that the children involved were safe and had been placed in emergency protective custody.
