The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have updated Kentucky's flu status
The Center for Disease Control and prevention updated Kentucky's flu status on Monday to local, which is only two steps below the Widespread level. Officials say the state is a month or longer from the beginning of peak flu season and cases are already emerging. Perry County witnessed a 13 percent jump in reported case in the past week, and numbers are expected to increase. Kentucky is one of eight states that has changed its status recently from sporadic to local.
