The Public Service Commission denies a request for a new Big Sandy Power Plant hearing

Officials with the Kentucky Public Service Commission have denied Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's request for a new hearing concerning the  shutdown of one unit of the Big Sandy Power Plant in Lawrence County. Conway had requested another hearing citing among other items that the PSC did not properly seek sufficient options before granting the request by AEP.  Kentucky power is planning to shut down one of the units at the plant near Louisa in 2015 as well as seek the approval to convert the second unit to burn natural gas.
