Attorney General Jack Conway hosts Keep Kentucky Kids Safe program in Knott County
Attorney General Jack Conway and his keep Kentucky Kids Safe partners spoke with students in Knott County about the dangers of prescription drugs. Conway was joined by members of Operation UNITE. The group urged over 600 students at Knott County Central High School not to be the next generation lost to prescription painkiller abuse. Nationally, prescription painkillers are the leading cause of accidental death in the United States. A recent report listed Kentucky as having the third highest rate for fatal overdoses. UNITE serves 32 counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
