Kentucky State Police offer winter driving tips

Kentucky State Police are asking motorists to be aware that weather conditions may change rapidly over the holiday period. KSP officials say winter weather provides new challenges to the public. Drivers are asked to be prepared to meet the challenges of the upcoming winter driving season. Kentucky State Police report that slippery roads were the contributing factor in 12,034 crashes and 72 fatalities in 2012. Here are a few simple tips to help keep drivers safe on the road. Avoid travel unless necessary when winter weather is in your area. Slow down and always wear your seatbelt. Leave early to allow for more time to reach your destination.
