First cases of flu reported in Kentucky

The Kentucky cabinet for Health and Family Services released a statement on Monday stating the first flu cases have now been reported in Kentucky. The Kentucky Department of Public Health reported the first two positive cases of influenza this week. Health officials are reporting the results to the centers for disease control as part of a statewide flu surveillance effort. Flu season typically begins in Late October or early November. Kentucky residents are urged to get the flu vaccine when it is available in their area.
