Floyd County School officials are moving forward with plans to build a new high school
Floyd County school officials are moving forward an an effort to build a new high school that would consolidate Allen Central High School with South Floyd High School. The new school could be open by the fall of 2016, but superintendent Henry Webb explained that would be a best case scenario and the project would likely take longer. The Floyd County County board voted to advertise for professional services and begin searching for property. The school is estimated to come with a 24 million dollar price tag. The new building is expected to have a student capacity of 750 students. Superintendent Webb noted that two possible sites have been identified, but did not name the possible locations.
