Perry County woman charged with child abuse appears in court

A Perry County woman indicted in August on child abuse charges has entered a not guilty plea in Perry County Circuit Court.

Brenda K. Noble pled not guilty to first degree sodomy, first degree sexual abuse and four counts of first degree criminal abuse. Noble is alleged to have had forced sexual relations with a juvenile less than twelve years of age, and also subjecting the child to sexual contact during the same period.

She is also alleged to have confined two other juveniles under age 12 in an attic with no electricity or plumbing, resulting in the children not being able to attend school.

Noble is being held on a $75,000 bond and is set for trial in February of 2014.
