Floyd County road work will create lane closures near Allen
Officials with the Department of Highways will begin work today on the U.S. 23 bridge at Allen, just north of the traffic signals at the intersection of Ky. 1428. Rotating lane closures will begin in the outside southbound lane, and the area will be a reduced speed work zone for at least two months.
The construction will start from the southbound outside lane, which means all southbound traffic will be merged into the inside lane. Speed limits will be reduced to 45 miles per hour in the work zone, with double fines for violations in the work zones.
