Officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say flu cases on the rise
Officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say cases of the flu have shown a significant increase in recent days. Thirty-Five states are now at the widespread level of flu cases, compared to only twenty-five one week prior. Kentucky is one of the latest states recently upgraded to widespread. Flu season has yet to peak and officials say it is to soon to know if this season will be worse than normal. This years numbers are not as high as last year at this point. Flu season usually peeks in late January. The number of people seeking medical care for flu symptoms across the country climbed to more than 4% of all doctor visits last week, a near doubling in number from just two weeks earlier.
