Over 1,000 customers in Johnson County remained without water as of Monday evening

Over 1,000 customers in Johnson County remained without water on Monday evening. Johnson County officials say they are working to restore service as soon as possible, but recent extreme cold weather has caused substantial problems with pipes all over Eastern Kentucky. Floyd County has experienced the same issues as well and some residents have been without water for nearly one week as of Monday. Knott and Perry counties have also faced water problems because of the recent cold weather. Perry County schools remained closed on Tuesday due to water related issues. Customers who have been fortunate enough to have water have been faced with boil water advisories in some counties including Johnson and Perry. Officials in all of the affected counties tell Q95 news that they are working to resolve the water service disruptions as quickly as possible.
