A second armed robbery reported in a 48 hour span in Floyd County

Kentucky State Police are investigating a second armed robbery in a 48 hour span in Floyd County. Police say the Mi-Dee Mart, in the Lackey community was robbed just after 8 pm on Thursday. Information obtained at the scene indicated a masked man entered the store and brandishing a weapon. The suspect then demanded cash from the clerk. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash toward the Garrett community. No injuries were reported and police are continuing to investigate. State police are also investigating an armed robbery that took place on Tuesday just miles from the Thursday robbery location. The Fast Lane gas station at Eastern was robbed on Tuesday evening.
