Bitter Cold returning to Eastern Kentucky today

Officials are urging Kentucky residents to prepare for bitter cold air invading Eastern Kentucky today. Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day and forecasters predict some parts of Eastern Kentucky could see subzero wind chills overnight. Wind gusts of up to 30 mph will make it feel much colder. Overnight low temperatures are expected to fall below zero in some areas, with wind chill values falling to as low as -10 below zero. Meteorologist Chuck Greif with the National Weather Service in Jackson says residents should make sure pets and livestock are cared for overnight. Exposed pipes should be covered to prevent freezing overnight as well. Stay tuned to Q95 for weather related updates.
