Three more file for upcoming election as deadline nears

Three more names have been added to the primary election ballot in Floyd County in recent days. Recent filings include the district four constable race. Allred "Junebug" Newsom of Grethel filed the required paperwork on Friday to seek the constable office. Newsom will challenge David Wakeland of Betsy Layne in the upcoming election. The race for district two constable now looks to be a two man race as Zeb Ousley of Garrett filed paperwork to seek the office today. Ousley will challenge Sam Duncan of Garrett in May. The race for Magistrate in District two added a fifth candidate on Friday, as Teresa Faye Hall of Wayland was added to the ballot. Hall will face off with Hattie Owens of Hueysville, Randy Davis of David, John P. Sammons of Prestonsburg and Bruce Ratliff of Hueysville in the race for Magistrate in district two. Candidates have until 4 pm on Tuesday to file required paperwork in order to be placed on the May ballot.
