A water outage in Ashland now affecting nearly 7,000 customers
Officials in Ashland expected to have water service restored to nearly 4,000 customers who had lost service after a water main break on Monday, but several setbacks have increased the number of those affected to near 7,000. Crews were unable to get enough pressure back to the pumping station, which would have helped refill the city's water tanks. As a result of the issues, crews were forced to shut off water supplies to the city's wholesale districts like Flatwoods and Cannonsburg, which receive their water from Ashland. Officials say a boil water advisory remains in effect and will likely be kept in place for the next few days.
