A former Mingo County Commissioner is sentenced to prison

Wsaz is reporting that a former Mingo County Commissioner has been sentenced to prison time. David Baisden was sentenced to 20 months in prison on Wednesday. Baisden, had pleaded guilty to attempting to buy tires for his personal vehicle at a government discount in 2009, then terminating the county's contract with Appalachian Tire when it refused to cooperate. Baisden was seeking probation, but was sentenced to 20 months and will also be required to pay 7,700 in restitution to Appalachian Tire and Good Year Tire.
