Weather Spotter Training scheduled for June 19th in Prestonsburg

The National Weather Service and the Floyd County Emergency and Resque Squad have partnered together to offer a Weather Spotter Training Class to be held on Thursday June 19th from 6-8 pm at the Floyd County Emergency and Rescue Squads new building located at 132 Cliff Road in Prestonsburg. Weather spotters are taught to identify and report significant events such as damaging winds, heavy rain, tornadoes, ice and snow along with other events that have an impact on the safety of the community. The class is open to the public and free of charge. No registration is required.
