Several charged in connection with an eastern Kentucky Cockfighting ring
Three people from Kentucky and two from Virginia have been charged in federal court with holding cockfighting matches that investigators say drew people from 8 states to eastern Kentucky. The five were charged with conspiring to operate an illegal gambling enterprise and illegally conduct cockfights in McDowell Kentucky. Authorities alleged that people came from Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia and Maryland. Authorities also say entrance fees were charged of $250.00 per entrant. Those charged in connection with the case included: Wesley Dean Robinson and Jonathan Robinson of Wise County, Virginia and Walter Stumbo, Joshua Stumbo and Sonya Stumbo of Floyd County, Kentucky.
