UPDATE: Woman who was found dead in Johnson County fire was stepdaughter of Johnson Co. coroner

Updating a story that aired yesterday on Q95 news, officials say a woman who died in a Johnson County fire was the stepdaughter of Johnson County coroner J.R. Frisby. Brenda K. Ward was found dead inside a home that caught fire just before 6:30 pm on Sunday. Frisby attempted several times to enter the home, but could not not do so due to the intense heat and smoke. The cause of death is expected to be listed as smoke inhalation. Frisby said officials think the fire may have been caused by a cigarette. Officials are continuing to investigate.
