eRUPPtion Zone tickets available for Belmont game

eRUPPtion zone tickets will be available to the public for Saturday's mens basketball game against Belmont. The public will be permitted to begin lining up for public eruption zone ticket sales this Saturday, December 21st at 6pm. Tickets in the eRUPPtion zone will be 5.00 (cash only) and are limited to one per person.

Kentucky falls to 19th in latest college basketball poll

Arizona remains the runaway number one in the latest AP college hoops poll. Kentucky fell from # 11 all the way to # 19 after losing to North Carolina on Saturday. The latest top ten is as follows:

1. Arizona

2. Syracuse

3. Ohio State

4. Wisconsin

5. Michigan State

6. Louisville

7. Oklahoma State

8. Villanova

8. Duke

10. UConn

TV schedule released for first three UK football games

The Southeastern Conference has announced the early season schedule comprising the first three weeks of the upcoming college football season.

Kentucky's season opener against Western Kentucky will kickoff at 7 p.m. at LP field in Nashville and will be televised live by ESPNews. Kentucky's home opener against Miami (OH) on September 7th will kick off at noon and be televised by Fox Sports Network. Kentucky's September 14th game against the Louisville Cardinals is scheduled for noon and will be televised live on ESPN.

A UK football player has been injured in a car accident in GA

University of Kentucky Safety Ashley Lowery has been hospitalized in Georgia with injuries suffered in a car accident Friday night.

UK athletic department spokesman Tony Neely confirmed that Lowery was being treated in a hospital but the school is still gathering details about the accident, where he is hospitalized and his condition.

Lowery played in eight games last season as a sophomore; he started all of those games.

He ranked fifth on the team with 43 tackles.

Last season he also had a career best nine tackles against Vanderbilt and recorded his first career interception which he returned for 21 yards.  

Several UK players have asked for prayers for Lowery through twitter.

UK's football Wildcats have lost a top commitment

Four star defensive end Denzel Ware has de-commited from UK.

Ware made the announcement via Twitter on Tuesday.

He said he wanted to thank the Big Blue Nation and every coach at UK, but at this time he had decided it was best to de-commit and look at his other options.

Ware is from Florida and was originally committed to Florida State when Mark Stoops was there. Ware also has offers from Alabama, Ohio St. and Texas among others.

UK Guard Ryan Harrow is leaving The Cats

Point guard Ryan Harrow is leaving UK to transfer to Georgia State.

John Calipari says, "Given the health of his dad, we fully support Ryan's decision to transfer to Georgia State to be closer to his family in Atlanta."

Harrow's father suffered a stroke before the 2012 season. He told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he will petition to be able to play next season because he wants to be close to his father.

Calipari said, "Ryan was a vital part of this year's team and an important player in practice during our 2011-12 national championship run." Calipari continued, "I want to thank Ryan for his efforts and hard work and wish him the best of luck at Georgia State."

Harrow averaged 9.9 points and 2.8 assists after sitting out the season following a transfer from North Carolina State.

Changes Are Coming To UK's Annual Spring Football Game

February 27, 2013

You will need a ticket to attend the annual UK spring football game this season, which is set for April 13 at 7 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium. It will still be free, but with small service fee through Ticketmaster. There will be reserved seating this year.

Season ticket holders will get an opportunity for the free tickets will begin Thursday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. Current season ticket holders will receive an e-mail this week detailing how they may obtain up to eight reserved seats:

Seats can be purchased through TicketMaster.com or by calling TicketMaster at 800-745-3000
Tickets are free but there is a small service charge per ticket

UK students may obtain their free tickets beginning Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Joe Craft Center ticket office. Students may pick up two tickets per ID.

Wiggins To Visit UK

A big recruiting day for Kentucky in both basketball and football.

Scout.com is reporting that Huntington Preps Andrew Wiggins, the nation's number one recruit, will visit UK on February 27.

The 6'8" small forward has already visited Florida State and he's scheduled three more trips.

His confirmed to visit Kentucky on February 27 is when the Cats take on Mississippi State and then he's tentatively set to go to Kansas on March 4 and North Carolina on March 9.

In football, another huge get for head coach Mark Stoops. Rivals reports UK has picked up a commitment from 6'3", 220 lbs linebacker Denzel Ware from Crestview, Florida.

Ware is a former Florida State commitment who chose the Cats over the Noles, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Louisana- Lafayette, Ohio State, Texas and USC.

He's listed by some as the third best outside linebacker prospect in the country, although rivals says he'll play defensive end at UK.
