This weekend will be an historic one for the Kentucky Lottery with a double dip for players seeking a mega-jackpot with the Powerball at $356 million and Mega Millions at $393 million. For the first time ever, Mega Millions and Powerball both have jackpots in excess of $300 million dollars, the fourteenth largest Powerball jackpot ever and the fifth largest Mega Millions jackpot. Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacensarie says there’s no way to explain why the jackpots have simultaneously entered this rarified air. The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday night and Powerball next plays on Saturday. Delacensarie reminds players to play responsibly, pointing out it just takes one ticket to win.
